By joining Unicorns of Diving (UOD), attending events, or accessing our website and services, you agree to these Terms of Service.
- Membership Eligibility
- Membership is open to anyone aged 18 or older.
- Individuals under the age of 18 may join only as Junior Unicorn members (Ages 10–17) and must have documented parental or guardian consent, including a completed and signed Parental/Guardian Consent Form.
- For minors under 13, verifiable parental or guardian consent is required before activating membership, consistent with our Privacy and Data Management Policy.
- To maintain membership status and access to benefits, annual dues must be paid annually as applicable to the chosen membership level.
- Associate Participation
- Individuals who interact with UOD as associates (non-members) are welcome to participate in select activities or access specified resources as permitted by UOD.
- Associates do not receive membership benefits unless explicitly stated.
- Associates must adhere to all applicable safety, behavior, and event participation guidelines in these Terms of Service.
- Member Responsibilities
- Safety
- Members are responsible for understanding and following all safety protocols during club activities, including dive trips.
- Members must be trained and certified as required for each dive level or activity they participate in.
- For Junior Unicorn members, participation in in-water activities may be subject to additional requirements, including supervision expectations and any limits set by UOD, the dive operator, or the parent/guardian.
- Behavior
- Disrespectful, abusive, or disruptive behavior is not tolerated.
- UOD may suspend or terminate membership or participation for violations of safety rules, behavior standards, or these Terms.
- Safety
- Annual Dues and Membership Benefits
- Membership dues are required to maintain active status with UOD, except for membership levels that are designated as free.
- Only members with up-to-date dues (where dues apply) enjoy access to membership benefits.
- If dues are not renewed when due, membership benefits and active status may be suspended until dues are brought current.
- Website and Online Services
- Content
- The UOD website and all content are provided for member and associate information, including event details, club news, and resources.
- UOD strives for accuracy but does not guarantee that all content is complete, current, or error-free.
- Personal Data
- By using our website and services, you agree to the collection and use of personal information as described in our Privacy and Data Management Policy.
- Personal information is collected to manage memberships, support event participation, improve club operations, and provide relevant communications.
- Content
- Dive Event Participation
- Participants
- All participants, including members and associates, must meet the requirements of each dive event. This may include certification level, recent dive experience, medical fitness, and equipment standards.
- UOD and its leadership reserve the right to deny participation if a participant does not meet safety or qualification requirements.
- For Junior Unicorn members, participation in dive or water activities may require specific approvals and waivers signed by a parent or legal guardian, and may be limited by operator policies or UOD safety guidelines.
- Refunds/Cancellations
- Local Trips
- Cancellations made at least 3 days before the trip are eligible for a full refund.
- No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 3 days of the trip.
- If the charter cancels due to unsafe or unfavorable conditions, a full refund will be provided.
- Some charters may have stricter cancellation policies that override the policy above. These will be clearly communicated at the time of booking.
- International Trips
- Deposits are non-refundable.
- Any refunds (full or partial) are at the discretion of the resort or travel provider and may be subject to their policies.
- Transfer of Registration
- If a registered attendee cannot attend, they may transfer their paid registration to another eligible person.
- The original registrant must notify UOD in writing with the name of the new attendee so records can be updated.
- For Junior Unicorn registrations, any transfer must still meet age, consent, and waiver requirements.
- Local Trips
- Participants
- Liability Waiver
- Members, associates, and participants acknowledge the inherent risks of diving, travel, and related activities and accept these risks by participating.
- UOD is not liable for injuries, losses, or damages incurred during club activities, events, or travel, except where prohibited by law.
- All participants are responsible for ensuring their own dive insurance coverage where applicable.
- Participants must sign a liability waiver before participating in any club-organized dive or event that requires it.
- For Junior Unicorn members, a parent or legal guardian must sign all required waivers and consent forms on behalf of the minor and accept responsibility for their participation.
- Commitment to Members
- If UOD makes a mistake in its own pricing, registration, or communication, we will make good-faith efforts to correct the issue and honor our commitments whenever reasonably possible.
- Changes to Terms and Services
- UOD may update these Terms of Service when needed.
- Members and associates will be notified of significant changes.
- Continued use of UOD services or participation in club activities after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
