What divers should expect

How the Safety Team may support you during a club dive.
  • Before the dive, the team may help with check-in, site awareness, entries, exits, and dive brief support.
  • During the dive, each diver remains responsible for their own buddy, gas, limits, and awareness.
  • After the dive, the team may assist with exits, surface support, and post-dive concerns.
  • The team may help answer safety questions before the dive begins.
  • The team may help identify concerns before they become bigger issues.
  • The team is there to support a safer and smoother club dive experience.
The Safety Team supports the dive. They do not replace personal responsibility or buddy team awareness.

Diver responsibility

Every diver still owns their personal safety.
  • Check your own gear before entering the water.
  • Dive within your certification, training, and comfort level.
  • Stay with your buddy and communicate clearly.
  • Monitor your gas, depth, time, and surroundings.
  • Surface with at least 700 PSI unless the dive brief sets a higher limit.
  • Speak up early if something does not feel right.
When in doubt, call the dive. There is always another dive.
