Our Very First Unicorn Spotlight
Shellie brings depth to diving. Thoughtfulness. A steady kind of presence that makes you feel grounded just being around her.
Here’s a little of what she shared with us.
What does diving mean to you today?
“Diving is grounding for me. It’s where my nervous system finally exhales. Underwater, the noise drops away and I’m reminded that I’m part of something much bigger than myself. Today, diving is also a doorway — into healing, curiosity, history, and stewardship. It’s a place where learning, reverence, and joy all meet.”
What do you love most about being a Unicorn?
“What I love most about UOD is that it’s unapologetically inclusive and deeply supportive. It’s not just about diving — it’s about belonging. Unicorns show up for each other with care, humor, and real encouragement. It feels like family, and that matters.”
A dive moment that stuck with her
She shared about the first time she felt truly calm underwater. Not focused on skills. Not thinking about what was next. Just present. Listening instead of conquering.
That shift changed how she approaches diving and life.
Quick Bubble Highlight: Her dream dive location is the Red Sea, anywhere layered with cultural and historical significance.
“Thank you again for the love and for building such a powerful, affirming community. I’m proud to be a Unicorn and grateful to dive alongside all of you.”
