Family & Friends Weekend 2026
For one weekend at Devil’s Den, the Unicorns traded the usual dive-day routine for something bigger: time together with family and friends, both in and out of the water.
A Weekend Built Around Being Together
Scuba diving may be what brings many Unicorns together, but Family & Friends Weekend has always been about something beyond the dives.
The annual weekend creates space for members to step away from the normal dive schedule and spend time together in a relaxed, family environment. Spouses, partners, children, friends, divers and non-divers can all be part of the same weekend.
In 2026, that tradition brought the Unicorns back to Devil’s Den in Williston, Florida for three days of camping, meals, diving, games and time together.
A Chance to Try Scuba
Family & Friends Weekend also created an opportunity for people who were curious about scuba to experience the water alongside a community they already knew and trusted.
Try Scuba gave new participants a chance to get comfortable with the equipment, experience breathing underwater and discover what draws so many Unicorns to the sport.
For some, it was simply a fun part of the weekend. For others, it may have been the first step toward becoming a diver.
Diving Together
For certified divers, the weekend still offered plenty of opportunity to do what brought many members together in the first place: get underwater.
Diving at Devil’s Den gave members a chance to experience one of Florida’s distinctive freshwater dive environments while sharing the experience with friends and fellow Unicorns.
But unlike a typical dive day, getting in the water was only one part of a much larger weekend.
Diving Was Only Part of the Experience
The schedule was intentionally built around a mix of diving and activities that everyone could enjoy.
Arrive & Reconnect
The weekend began with campsite setup followed by dinner and a meet-and-greet, an easy start centered on settling in and spending time together.
Dive, Play & Fellowship
Try Scuba, club dives and non-diver activities shared the day with lunch, camp games and an evening pool party, creating plenty of ways to participate without needing to be a diver.
One More Meal Together
The weekend wrapped up with breakfast before breaking down camp, one last opportunity to gather before everyone headed home.
You Didn’t Have to Dive to Belong
One of the things that makes Family & Friends Weekend different from a typical club dive is that being a diver isn’t the point. Some people dove. Others snorkeled, tried scuba, enjoyed the park or simply came to spend time with everyone. The weekend was designed so family and friends could share the experience alongside the divers they support.
Good Food, Good People and Time Together
Meals, games, conversations and time around camp gave everyone opportunities to connect away from tanks, gear and dive schedules.
Those moments are an important part of Family & Friends Weekend. They give members a chance to know one another beyond the water while also welcoming the spouses, partners, children and friends who are part of their lives.
Whether someone spent the day diving, tried scuba for the first time or never entered the water at all, everyone could be part of the same experience.
A Different Side of Florida Diving
Florida scuba diving isn’t limited to reefs, wrecks and the Atlantic coast. The state’s freshwater springs offer an entirely different experience, and Devil’s Den has become a familiar setting for one of the Unicorns’ longest-running annual traditions.
But for this weekend, the location was only the backdrop. Family & Friends Weekend was ultimately about strengthening the relationships that make Unicorns of Diving more than a group of people who happen to scuba dive together.
